IBPS PO:

The IBPS PO examination is conducted for recruitment of the entry level officers better known as Probationary Officers in the Indian Public Sector banks. But for that you have to go through a rigorous three phase examination pattern. Getting a Job as an officer in a PSB can be great professional achievement for you as there is good scope of growth in the PSB’s. If you get in as a PO before 25, you can end up retiring even as a Zonal Manager if you have that caliber.

Pattern of IBPS PO Examination:

 The pattern of IBPS PO examination has completely changed from the year 2015 with the introduction of two-phase written examination which is followed by an interview. Here are the details about the pattern for the examination.

Preliminary Examination:

The first phase of the IBPS PO examination is the preliminary exam consisting of 100 marks. The allotted time-duration for the preliminary exam is 1 hour. Here are the details about the preliminary examination:

Marks obtained in the preliminary examination are not added to your final score and are eligible only for selection in the mains examination.

Mains examination:

The mains examination is the all important phase where you just don’t have to clear the cut-off but also secure good marks to get a job in the PSB’s. The exam lasts for 2 hours and here is the detailed pattern for the examination:

Interview:

After securing minimum cut-off marks in the mains examination, you will be called for the interview which is worth 100 marks. The pass mark is 40 for GEN/OBC and 35 for SC/ST. You need to secure the minimum cut-off marks in the interview for final selection in the PSB’s.

Final allotment:

The final allotment is done on 1 of April every year. The marks scored in the mains examination and the interviews are adjusted into 80:20 ratio to prepare the final list of successful candidates. The allotment of bank is done on the basis of availability of seats and preference order as filled by you in the application form.
